What is coffee time, growing each fortnight? More people are referring us on. Thanks. Two new people today, Welcome to Alan from Active Assist, and Kathleen from Spirit Art. Andrew is joining us; he is interested in some work experience in small business and financial planning.

Kate: Advertising on SeaFm, really good, stoned Iggy in the studio last week. New clients called. Using face book as an advertising tool.

Tony: Peter Irvine, Founder of Gloria Jeans, has provided a testimonial for Tony’s book.

David: Alan has come on board with Active Assist. Lots of great experience.

Rae: Facilitated her first course with one of her 2 new clients. It went really well.

He has held a couple of workshops which have been successful. More coming up. Has created some flyers and will distribute to camera shops around the coast.

Rae: Inspire Success - Assisting business in building their productivity. Working to unblock staffing issues and move forward as a team and individually.

Kevin – Zenith Centre: Lunch time specials now. Friday night drinks, end of month as well as each Friday night. Chamber dinner last night went well. New Building progress – looks to be 2 interested parties, in renting. Looking to set up small offices if people are interested. 3yr lease – small individual offices and a meeting room.

Andrew: Work Experience. Looking to see what small businesses do, and interested in financial planning.

Steve: Bank of QLD, Tuggerah - Local banking solutions for local customers – business and personal. Can help businesses with Merchant Facilities, Equipment finance, business banking as well as personal banking. Google alert – 60% lending on homes

Tarnia: Gurney Financial Services seems to be picking up. 3 Specialising in consolidating superannuation policies and putting in place basic insurance to cover the mortgage.
Planningwerx4U had its first paying customer last week. Really enjoying the business and helping others. Blog will be out soon.

Tony: AIIB Insurance - Free audit and checkup on services. One client I went to see the other day was under insured by 100’s of thousands of dollars on their building. Make sure that you have the correct insurance in place. Call me for a check up.

Janice: Heavenly Scented Candles - Registered and trademarked my business. Return all empty silver tea light candles and I will refill for half price. Has been contacted through her website and asked to promote her candles – both importing and exporting. We suggested she speak to Alan re exporting and importing.

Kate: Joyful Wellness & Healing - Specializing in hot stone massage, Massage, Bowen therapy, Reiki, Ear Candling. Hot Stoned Iggy from SeaFM last week. Went really well. And I picked up
3 new clients for this week. Special for March is $20 for 20 minutes – massage.

John: JMNetwerx - Retired, Having a break at the moment. But putting together the business.

Kathleen: Spirit Art Readings - Creative art work through interpretations. Showed all her works and described how works. She talks to someone and works on their energy and draws a picture, then interprets it into written understanding for clients.

Ted – Debt Mastery: Assisting families and individuals get out of debt. Run workshops for people to help them pay off their debts quicker and manage their lives better.

Tony – 90% of business is referrals. Treads softly, asks but doesn’t push. Never asks new clients. Joined network groups like BNI, but builds alliances with Business Owners – accountants and financial planners
Dean – Real Estate Owners refer people to him, offers a lot of free help to home buyers – extra customer service
Steve – Asks customers that come into the bank, at networking
Ted – the purchaser always has a need, build relationship business & personal touch
David – focus on your clients, and what they need, and refer others to others, which work’s the other way round, lead by example.
Tarnia – friendly not pushy, refer others they do the same, networking, offer extra hand holding with my clients until we have set everything up, then provide 2 reviews per yr as well as birthday cards – personal touches.

Tony has been working with some other business owners and they have put together a book. The book is about customer service and will be published in January 09. The book is called “in service”.

Dean Brown – Woodview Home Loans, Lisarow
Dean suggested that business owners on the coast might like to donate money to “Central Coast Kids in Need”.

He suggested that instead of buying your clients flowers, wine or a gift, that we tell them we will make a donation to CCKIN. This is a group that donates money to families to help with the costs of a sick child. The money raised helps pay for accommodation, and care for local families.

Opening and Welcome by Tarnia Gurney

What is Coffee time: Coffee Time has been created by planningwerx4U to assist local small business owners get together and meet others, network and discuss the issues faced in business today. Small business owners can learn more about how to run their businesses through open discussions and meetings. There is a variety of small business owners attending Coffee Time, who bring with them a wealth of knowledge in business.

Why & How?? Coffee Time was created to work together with other small business owners to assist them in meeting others business owners and discussing issues that each business face. After many discussions with new and local small business owners, Tarnia Gurney noticed that there were some gaps in the system that some business owners were falling through. Coffee Time aims to put business owners back in control of their businesses and their lives and put them in touch with people who can assist them.

When & Where? Coffee time has been organised at Tuggerah’s Zenith Centre. Coffee Time meet at 10.30am on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month. Anyone who is thinking of starting their own business or who currently runs their own business is invited to join other like minded people to have a coffee and a chat — no pressure. These gatherings are a great way to network and build relationships.

So my thoughts are, we all come along. Have a chat and meet people and then we can sit down and have a little meeting. Share some ideas and questions.

Different ideas offered to:
o Bob to take photos of the Hot Rods and Cars this weekend at the Beachcomber, leave a flyer with the owner to say I have taken a photo, call me if you wish to purchase the photos.
o Deb to be seen around more – maybe more flyers to businesses or local homes.
o Dean to get more up on his website, put together a 10 traps and tips for his clientele, get onto Google, put together a info sheet for the open homes
o Kevin/Jo – to get more advertising around for the Café. Maybe opening after hrs, putting flyers out in the business park. Free coffee card. Luncheon packs, Getting businesses to email their orders through of a morning and then delivering them to the clients. Advertising Christmas parties or drinks for the area.


What people in this group can offer each other is support, ideas and friendship.

What is Coffee time: Coffee Time has been created by planningwerx4U to assist local small business owners get together and meet others, network and discuss the issues faced in business today. Small business owners can learn more about how to run their businesses through open discussions and meetings. There is a variety of small business owners attending Coffee Time, who bring with them a wealth of knowledge in business.

Why & How?? Coffee Time was created to work together with other small business owners to assist them in meeting others business owners and discussing issues that each business face. After many discussions with new and local small business owners, Tarnia Gurney noticed that there were some gaps in the system that some business owners were falling through. Coffee Time aims to put business owners back in control of their businesses and their lives and put them in touch with people who can assist them.

When & Where? Coffee time has been organised at Tuggerah’s Zenith Centre. Coffee Time meet at 10.30am on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month. Anyone who is thinking of starting their own business or who currently runs their own business is invited to join other like minded people to have a coffee and a chat — no pressure. These gatherings are a great way to network and build relationships.

Coffee Time

Coffee Time has been created by planningwerx4U to assist local small business owners (SBO’S) get together and meet others, network and discuss the issues faced in business today. SBO’s can learn more about how to run their businesses through open discussions and meetings. There is a variety of SBO’s attending Coffee Time, who bring with them a wealth of knowledge in business.

Why & How??
