Car Insurance

QBE largest insurer
17% increase due to the natural disasters occurring since 2007 (eg Storms) and the Global Financial Crisis.

Many people are under insured
Check house & update you contents
Check www.alliance.com.au for calculation to do house/building & home contents

TIPS
- Don’t buy the cheapest
- Shop around
- Make sure of exclusions
- Defined events – fire, water, storm
- Accidental damage cover – broken tv/red wine
- Cover away from home.

House & Contents

Did you know?
- Carpets are under contents not building
- Curtains/blinds under contents
- If you leave your home vacant for more than 30 – 60 days (depending on insurer) you need to notify your insurer or have a house sitter

Be aware
- If you have a security discount make sure you have security in place, If not it may void the policy
- Flood is not covered
- Termites not covered
- Personal Liability insurance – check what is covering away and at home

Motor Vehicle

Competitive price/discounts
Restricting drivers/ nominated drivers, no-one else can drive, adding other people would be required.
Unless the car is in an accident anything in the car is not covered under the M/V insurance including laptops, multi media, glasses, child car seats, GPS. Refer to your insurer for your exact cover details.

Thank you Tony for discussing insurance tips for us for our home’s car’s and businesses.
