Coffee Time Minutes – 23/9/09

Welcome:

Good Morning to you all and thanks for coming along.

Who we are:

Coffee Time is a group where you can meet others in business and build relationships. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Here at the Zenith Centre.

  • Look at the costs of marketing
  • How much is brochures, flyer, newpapers and radio.
  • Investigate what actually works

  • Measure your marketing – ask how did you find me?
  • Ask for referrals
  • Use yellow pages online, true local, B2B booklets, coffee news, Google.
  • Look at what you can do for other people, rather than what others can do for you.
  • Utilise Twitter and Face Book, My space and Google, blogs to get more internet exposure to get the Gen Y and X.
  • Speak to Deb, Darren and Kim to go on the BEC Website for a free listing.
  • On your websites add key words.
  • Free listing on yellow pages.
  • Free plugs on the radio if you give them something.
  • Offer to sponsor local businesses and events.
  • Donate time or gift vouchers to fund raisers.
  • Target your market.
  • Who is your ACTUAL client?
  • Complete letter drops in your local area with flyers made at home.
  • People need to be touched five times to do business with you.
  • When dropping flyers in your suburbs, Colour the corners of your flyers for a certain area, offering a special offer. When people take up the offer, tell them to bring the offer flyer with them. This will assist you in knowing where your flyers are working.
  • By time wise, utilise the computer, don’t be computer poor.
  • Watch for online fees for newspapers online.
  • New ways – computer
  • Old ways – paper.
  • Networking promotes your business.
  • Work with people who will promote your business.
  • Logos to right hand side of letterhead and business cards. This assists people with remembering who you are.
  • Look to B 2 B for advertising locally as this works.

  • When you receive a business card write on the back where you met them and how you can help them.
  • Add business cards to your outlook contact system and or your data base to keep in file.
  • Utilize send out cards or marketing tool to keep in touch with your data base.
